We need better opportunity to be heard

More than 100 local residents attended a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Town Hall in May of 2023, but:

There were no presentations by GDOT
No seating, and no public Q&A session like the one held for the Oconee Connector/Virgil Langford/Jimmie Daniell interchanges.

Some of the changes are: • Interchange at Dials Mill Ext. @ SR316 • Bridge or interchange at McNutt Creek Rd @ SR316 • Driver Services Center and State Police Post at McNutt Creek Rd • Industrial businesses moving to the Gateway Technology Business Park • Unspecified plans for Mars Hill Rd @ SR316 GDOT held Public Information Open Houses (PIOH) for interchange projects along SR316, including the Oconee Connector in Oconee County and Barber Creek and Carl-Bethlehem interchanges in Barrow County. There has not been a PIOH for the Dials Mills interchange even though its timeline is in the short term. Please provide a public information open house (PIOH) and better opportunities for local citizens to be heard. These changes affect us in significant ways.
