McNutt Creek @ SR316 is the deadliest intersection in Oconee County based on Georgia DOT intersection-related crash data. In the past decade six deaths have occurred:
September 2025
Emmily Schild, 35, of Manchester,Tennessee, was killed in a two-vehicle wreck along SR 316 at McNutt Creek Road when the driver of the vehicle she was traveling in failed to yield when making a left turn from SR 316 onto McNutt Creek Road.

December 2024​​​
Dials Mill Plantation resident Susan Draper was killed when a Jefferson man failed to yield right of way while crossing SR 316 at McNutt Creek Rd.
November 2019
Rebecca Kenerly, mother of Dials Mill Plantation homeowner Jennifer Newbury, died in a two-vehicle crash at GA 316 and McNutt Creek Rd. (South Burson Ave).
